2008-06-07: Songs from TV
07.Červen 2008 | Inspirations of mineWhen I do something, or when I travel - I listen to the music. Who does not.
Anyway, music brings peace into my soul or just makes the time pass faster. But when the song has good lyrics, it inspires me. And I would like to share the most inspiring songs.
MASH: Suicide is painless
One of the best TV shows ever. Mobile Army Surgical Hospital AKA M*A*S*H. Originally, this song was written by Mike Altman, son of the director Robert Altman, for his fathers MASH movie.
Moby: Extreme Ways
The Bourne trilogy was real masterpiece. I wish there were more movies with Jason Bourne. Woult be nice having two J.B. superagents.
Lynyrd Skynyrd: Sweet Home Alabama
Alabama must be very proud to heve such song. Damned there must be cool life in there. The land where Forrest Gump cuts the grass for free....
Buffalo Springfield: For What It's Worth
Nice song, again used in Forrest Gump and Lord of War (where is quite interesting sceen that goes along this song).
Bob Dylan: Blowin' In the Wind
Once again used in Forrest Gump and some others like Me, Myself And Irene...
Simon & Garfunkel: Mrs. Robinson
The credits song from The Graduate and once again used in Forrest Gump.
The mamas and the papas: California dreamin
It's boring, but once more Forrest Gump.
Fleetwood Mac: Go Your Own Way
#119 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Guess what movie you know it from.
Scott MacKenzie: San Francisco
Very popular song after Prague Spring 1968, used in RebeLove and FG.
5th dimension: Aquarius
Forman's musical Hair includes this song as well as FG does. Check this music video. You can see one of the first usage of the blue background.
Byrds: Turn Turn Turn
The text of this song is quoting Bible (Ecclesiastes 3). Again FG.
The Rembrandts: I'll Be There For You
TV show Friends. Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross. Everyone know them, everyone love them. They are the best. I alwas cry while watching the last episode. I miss 'em
