SCHOOL SYSTEM IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC
24.Únor 2008 In the czech Republic´s school attendance is compulsory from theage of 6 till 15 or 16.It is free of charge but private school ispaid.This system includes four grades.
1) PRE-SCHOOL EDUCATION
In our country there are nursery schools for children from age of 1 to3 years.From the age of 3 to 6 years children attend kindergarten.Thisfirst grade is not compulsory.
2)PRIMARY EDUCATION
From the age of 6 to 15 or 16 years children attend basic school.Thereare 2 degrees.The first degree is from the first class to the fifthclass.Children learn reading , writing and math.Second degree is fromthe sixth to nineth class.They learn Czech language, foreign languageas English, Germany, Russian or Fench, math, chemistry, Biology,Physics, History, Geography, Civies, P.E., Music, Art, Computer.
3)SECONDARY EDUCATION
Is for 4 years.Boys and girls over the age 15 or 16 attend secondaryschools such as Grammar school, Special school and Apprenticecentres.They are admitted to these schools when they pass onexam.Students study special subjects for their future job. For example: economic , acounting, computes.At the grammar schools are taughtgeneral education and prepare student for university.Student finishtheir studies with the school-leaving examination.
4)UNIVERSITY
The universitis are dividet to various lines for examplemedicine, juridical, economic, pedagogic...and so on.
